| Chuck D of Public Enemy was honored on Saturday, May 19 at his hometown library in Roosevelt, Long Island. According to Newsday.com, library board president, Natalie Connor, honored Chuck D for his 20 years in the music industry and his effort to help raise $2.5 million for a new cultural arts performance center. The event on Saturday night raised $16,000. “This is only the first step towards raising the $2.5 million needed,” Connor said.

The Roots and Lupe Fiasco will headline Northwestern University’s annual Dillo Concert on Saturday, May 26. According to The Daily Northwestern, The Roots were added this week as a last-minute replacement for rock group, Motion City Soundtrack, who dropped out of the concert.
The Dillo Concert is a yearly tradition for Northwestern University, organized by the Mayfest student group, which takes places the Saturday before Memorial Day. | |
